Public Preview update v1.2.0 - Xbox controller support
One Rotten Oath » Devlog
Hey everyone!
It’s a big one for me. One Rotten Oath now supports Xbox controllers (tested on 360 and XONE controllers). It took some time, but I’m proud of it. It’ll also let you experience the game in a different way. I also added different types of vibration strength, depending on what’s happening on the screen (you can also enable or disable them, if that’s not your thing). It’s also worth noting that, if you're planning on using the controller, please plug it in before clicking on the executable. Full changelog is available below:
Added:
- Controller support.
- Subtle transitions between scenes (so that the next stage / FMV / interlude doesn’t load in as abruptly).
QoL improvements:
- The game will now pause, if the player clicks outside the game or uses ALT+TAB during interludes or time-based stages. It’s worth noting that FMV sequences can’t be paused in that instance.
Bug fixes:
- Rifle scope doesn’t stay on the screen after dying.
- Deleted the possibility of skipping a short animation after completing the level. If players skipped the animation too soon on lower end hardware, the game would load up a music track from the interlude and overlap it with the one playing on the time-based stage.
- Fixed a bug where the pause menu wouldn’t show up properly, if players paused the game right after dying (red screen).
Have a good one,
PB
